IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice M.
Elkin
August 9, 1940 – February 17, 2026
Janice M. Elkin, 85, of Tuscola, formerly of Indiana, PA, passed away in her home, in the arms of her daughter on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Services will be held at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home in Indiana, PA. Burial will be in the Smicksburg Cemetery, Smicksburg, PA
Janice was the daughter of Samuel Taylor and Jennie Louise Cribbs McCormick.
She married Lewis Henry Elkin on October 29, 1960 in Indiana, PA. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2010.
Survivors include her daughter, Tami Moyer and husband: Mike of Tuscola, granddaughters: Kylie Amick and her son: Henry of Colorado Springs, CO, Caylen Moyer and fiancée: Noah Pierce of Urbana and Kyra Tabeling and husband: Logan of Champaign and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and brothers: Richard “Dick” McCormick (wife Sally), John “Jack” McCormick (wife Ethel), and Samuel “Ed” McCormick.
Janice formerly worked as a legal secretary. She was known for her vibrant personality and attractive appearance, consistently taking pride in her presentation and approach to life. Janice attended the Victory Church in Camargo, Illinois. She pursued interests such as reading Bible devotions, playing cards and going to get her nails done with her daughter and granddaughters.
Spending time, going anywhere with her family and just out for a good steak dinner were Jan’s favorite things to do. Her family was her everything.
Although her family appreciates the thoughts of flowers, Tami has mentioned the importance that a local senior food nutrition program played in her mom's health and well-being for over 10 years. This program survives on donations and never forces seniors to pay for their meal if they are unable. Peace meal provided Jan with good, hot food daily and provided Tami the comfort of knowing that she would at least have one wholesome meal a day, and that the delivery volunteers would check on her and provide her with some smiles and kind conversations. This program was a Godsend to Jan and her family and Tami would like contributions to be made in Jan’s honor to help others have hot meals in their community in lieu of flowers.
Please send donations to: SBL Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program, 694 Castle Drive, Charleston, IL 61920 in memory of Janice Elkin.
