Obituary
Janet C. Quick, 82, of Atwood, IL, died at 5:04 PM Sunday, September 21, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Conrad Heisner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.
Mrs. Quick was born December 1, 1925 in Decatur, the daughter of Wiley and Alpha Lease Chandler. She married James J. Quick on November 1, 1947 in Arthur.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of Atwood, IL.
She was preceded in death by her son, Reed Kevin Quick and her daughter, Karen Gage Quick, and her parents.
Mrs. Quick was a member of the Lake Fork United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Music Department, as vocal soloist and choir director for many years. She also held other offices in the church. Janet was a past member of the Atwood Woman's Club; served as past president of the Piatt County Federation of Women's Club; and served in the 19th District Federation as a Department Chairman. She was a graduate of the Springfield Business College.
