Jane Trower, 86,of Arthur, died at 3:46 PM Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jane was born April 26, 1930, the daughter of Earl W. and Mary Ellen Janes Craig. She married Lawrence "Slats" Trower on May 20, 1948 in Arthur; he preceded her in death on June 24, 2010.

She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Dan) Jackson of Toledo; Connie (John) Armer of Bethany; Cindy (Steve) Helton of Arthur; 6 grandchildren, Tami (Gary) Hatten of Neoga; Scott (Amy) Jackson of Washington; Keri (Joe) Sowers of Newton; Matt (Jenny) Jackson of Toledo; Jared (Kelly) Armer of Mattoon; Jodi (Mark) Herbord of Bethany; 19 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Ella Wahl of Downers Grove; and Sue (Jack) Wagner of Mahomet; brother-in-law, Richard (Ruth) Trower of Huxley, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Slats; 3 sisters, Madonna Milam, Helen Hood and twin sister, Jean Otterstedt; and several sisters-in-law; and brothers-in-law.

Jane was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church. She had worked as a clerk at Trower's True Value and Eads Store in Arthur. Jane retired as head cook for the Huber House in 1991.

She helped Slats with his "community garden" and also his air conditioner repair business. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Memorials are suggested to the Vine Street Christian Church or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
