She will also be greatly missed by extended family members in the Freeport, IL and Bloomington, IL areas and wonderful friends too numerous to count. Please know that she loved each one of you with all of her heart.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents.
Jan graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1954. She then earned her bachelor's degree in 1958 and her master's degree in 1982 from the University of Illinois. Jan was an assistant dean and assistant director in the Office of International Student Affairs at the University of Illinois. Jan was an active officer of the UIUC International Hospitality Committee through the fall 2016 semester. She retired from University in 2005.
She was a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program that meets at the Stevick Senior Center. Jan enjoyed attending her swimming classes and crocheting with the ladies. She was also a member of the Mahomet HCE Unit. Jan loved all of her retirement activities and could always be counted on to drop everything and go out to lunch!
Jan was born to be a St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini Fan; and she was all of that and more. She was a charter member of the Courtsiders and a member of the Illini Boosters. Go Cardinals and Go Illini!
Jan wanted the Cardinals to have a decent relief pitcher. If you can't make that happen, then memorials can be made to an organization of the donors' choice in her honor.
