James Edward Mosbarger, 86, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL
Funeral Services and Military Rites will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Rev. Don Gerkin officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL
James was born on December 19, 1927 in Douglas County, IL, the son of Everett and Gertrude Ingrum Mosbarger. He married Charlotte Thompson on May 27, 1955 in Pekin, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Carol Mosbarger of Atwood, IL, Karen Tucker of Arthur, IL, Sharon (Bill) Bahnke of Palm Bay, FL, Donna Jo (Ray) Bell of Normal, IL, Gary (Wanda) Mosbarger of Hammond, IL, and Rick Mosbarger of Normal, IL, grandchildren: Jeremy Tucker, Heather Mosbarger, Derek Mosbarger and Nicole Mosbarger, brother: Don (Marjorie) Mosbarger of Atwood, IL, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters: Virginia Mosbarger, Paul Mosbarger, Alberta Davis, Georgia Janes, Martha Donley, Helen Clark and Bill Mosbarger.
James retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company, Tuscola, IL. He was a World War II US Air Force Veteran, having served in Germany. James was a member of the Atwood Christian Church.
