James A. "Jim" Teeters, 69, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 12:09 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Jim was born on February 23, 1940 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Albert T. and Mary M. Hettinger Teeters. He married Helen A. Scheu on November 22, 1963 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother: Mary Teeters of Tuscola, IL, Daughter: Lisa McCallister (Paul Snow) of Tuscola, IL, Son: Jeff Teeters and wife: Darla of Moweaqua, IL, Sister: Carol (Bubba) Humphries of Lynchburg, VA, Grandchildren: Zach, Cole, Tiffany and Hannah

He was preceded in death by his father and sister: Mary Ann Teeters

Memorials are suggested to the SAM Food Pantry or Douglas County Museum Association

Jim retired from Cabot Corporation, where he worked as a lab technician. He served his country as a member of the US Air Force. He attended the Tuscola United Church of Christ and he was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. Jim was a former volunteer of the Tuscola Fire Department.
