James E. Houser, 70, of Tuscola, IL, died at 9:18 AM, Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Rural Palestine, IL, with the Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Mr. Houser was born on October 4, 1935 in Palestine, IL, the son of Max D. and Berniece Moore Houser. He married Kiva L. Hawkins on June 1, 1957 in Palestine, IL. She survives.

He was preceded by his parents.

Mr. Houser retired from the Quantum-USI Chemical Company, Tuscola, IL, where he worked as a process mechanic from 1957 until his retirement in 1995. He worked part time for the F.H. Jones Lumber Company in Tuscola, IL. He was a US Navy Korean War Veteran. He loved to work on cars, read, do woodworking and he was an avid sports fan. He loved to spend time with his two grandsons.
