James R. Hawk, 72, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital Urbana, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola, IL with the Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Mr. Hawk was born February 4, 1937 in Makanda, IL the son of William Shurley and Neva Ruth McGowin Hawk. He married Wanda Sargent on November 3, 1959 in Ava, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include 3 Sons: Donald Hawk of Salem, IL; James (Vicky) Hawk of Tuscola, IL; and William Hawk of Tuscola, IL; a Daughter: Neva (Brian) Blankenship of Tuscola, IL; 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: 8 Brothers and Sisters and a Daughter-in-Law: Diane Hawk.
He was a retired coal miner. James was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a loving husband and a wonderful father.
