James Earl "Jamie" Daugherty, 59, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:18 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Graveside Services will immediately follow the visitation at the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joe Carter officiating.

Jamie was born on December 6, 1956 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Joy Lee and Eileen Marie Mefford Daugherty, Sr.

Survivors include his mother: Eileen Daugherty of Tuscola, daughter: Jennifer E. (James) Earl of Tuscola, 2 brothers: Joy (Judy) Daugherty, Jr. of Tuscola and John (Lorraine) Daugherty of Horse Branch, KY, 2 sisters: Carla Jean "Chic" Zoch of Atlanta, GA and Pat McLane of Arcola, 3 grandchildren: Jacob Earl, Joshua Earl and Jaslyn Earl

He was preceded in death by his father.

Jamie graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1976. He formerly worked as an iron worker and worked for Snyder Roofing for several years. He enjoyed fishing and music. He loved to play the guitar and sing.

Jamie was especially good at rescuing animals.
