James Crowe, 90, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 7:45 pm, Monday, January 14, 2013 at the St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL.

Jim was born on February 23, 1922 in Monroe County, KY, the son of Claude and Dorie Netherton Crowe. He married Cathryn Coop. She preceded him in death. He married Mary Jane Hall. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter: Sharon (Paul) Robertson of Hammond, IL, and son: James Crowe, Jr. of Hammond, IL, grandchildren: Lynnette Pantier, Jimmy Crowe, III, Tonya Huggler and Lexie Crowe-Stanley, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, sister: Norvella Rouse of Tompkinsville, KY

He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Kevin Crowe, brothers: Basil and Willard Crowe.

Jim was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Hammond area.
He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Jim was a member of the Atwood First Baptist Church and the James Reeder American Legion Post #770, Atwood, IL.

Jim was an avid gardener.
