James G. Barcus, 69, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 12:45 am, Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL
James was born on October 16, 1940 in Decatur, IL, the son of Raymond and Mary Clapp Barcus. He married Gaila DeWeese on September 4, 1966 in Hammond, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include Kristy and Jeff Sams of Decatur, IL, Joe, Meda, Daniel and Judah Bateman of Nashville, TN, Michelle (Rob) Kraker of Aurora, IL, Robert (Sandra) Barcus of Atwood, IL, Sam (Rita) Barcus of Newman, IL, Nell Eyestone of Urbana, IL, Marjorie (Arnold) Jones of Pierson, IL, Helen Schindler of Urbana, IL, Barbara (Syed) Azhar of Atwood, IL, Jim (Linda) Clapp of Hammond, IN, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents and 2 nephews.
James was a retired farmer and member of the Hammond United Methodist Church.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
