Obituary

Jack Alan Plappert, 59, left for his heavenly home at 12:35 A.M., Sunday, January 14, 2007. He was surrounded by the love of his wife and six children in their Atwood home.

The son of Jack W. and Georgia Halford Plappert, he was born on February 4, 1947 in Litchfield, IL.

Jack graduated from Maroa-Forsyth High School in 1965. He drag raced in the 70's. He liked the Chicago Bears, loved old country music, Nascar and was an avid Earnhardt fan. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL.

His hobbies were camping and woodworking which he was very gifted at.

He married Janet Sue Reid Carberry on May 6, 1972 in Decatur, IL. Together they had daughters Tammy and Tonya.

He leaves behind daughters: Christine (Chris) Cox and husband Rick of Decatur, IL, Michelle (Shelly) Ashby and husband: Brian of Hallsville, IL, Tammy Eckart and husband; Waylon of Atwood, IL, and Tonya Plappert Wiley and husband: Kory of Sullivan, IL., Stepson: Troy Carberry and fiance: Valarie Gardner of Decatur, IL, Stepdaughter: Angela (Angie) Stillabower of Atwood, IL, Grandsons: Jason Carberry of Mattoon, IL, Justin Stillabower of Atwood, IL, Joshua & Jeremy Luster of Hallsville, IL. Jordan & Jadon Cox of Decatur, IL, Maddux Eckart of Atwood, IL, and one granddaughter: Torie Plappert of Sullivan, IL, Sister: Mary Beth Viccone of Sorento, IL, Sister-In-Law: Mary Helen Plappert of Pana, IL.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Steve, infant brother: Danny, Grandbabies: Tabitha & Twins: Ricky and Rocky Cox

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Victory Church of Camargo, 2 North Vine Street, Camargo, IL, with Pastor Duane Piercy officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the church. Burial will be in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, IL. The Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL has been entrusted by the family with the arrangements. Condolences to the family may be sent to hilligossshraderfh.com
