Obituary
Ivan E. Sharp, 92, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Palm Terrace Nursing Home, Mattoon, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Ivan was born on November 9, 1921 in Clark County, IL, the son of Henry H. and Linna Packer Sharp. He married Rosalie Brandenburg on December 24, 1944 in Casey, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is his son: Gerald "Jerry" Sharp and fiancée: Sharon Hunt of Tuscola, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Maxine Ruffner, Delene Gallatin and brothers: Ferman Sharp and Darrell Sharp.
Ivan formerly worked in the oil fields in Casey, IL. He worked for Carter's Moving and Storage and retired from Associated Transfer both in Champaign, IL. He also formerly owned and operated the Standard Oil gas station in Homer, IL. Ivan was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ and the Tuscola Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and gardening. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinal fan.
