Idalene Browning Watkins went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Idalene was born August 4, 1937 to Wynnette Phillips Browning and John E. Browning in Franklin County, Illinois. She married Kenneth Blaine Watkins on May 28, 1955 in Macon County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. Idalene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Carol Gene Browning and Gary Browning, sister Linda Sue Frey and brother-in-law James Frey.

Idalene is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Fairchild of Fairfax, IA and Nancy (Bert) Snoddy of Charleston, IL; grandson Matthew (McKenzie) Snoddy, great-granddaughter Brooksley Owens, and granddaughter Ashley Snoddy. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Kay Browning and Carol Ann Browning as well as many nieces and nephews.

Idalene worked at the Arthur Grade School for 35 years as an aide in the office and as an aide transporting special needs children to and from school. She also enjoyed working in The Great Pumpkin Patch gift shop.

Idalene was a long time member of the Arthur United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held at the Arthur United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 4th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jill Bunker officiating.  Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Dinner will be held at the church at 1:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to the Arthur United Methodist Church or Eberhardt Village.
