Helen A. Teeters, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.
Helen was born on January 6, 1942 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Harold W. and Dorothy M. Kresin Scheu. She married James A. "Jim" Teeters on November 22, 1963 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2009.
Survivors include her Daughter: Lisa McCallister (Paul Snow) of Tuscola, IL, Son: Jeff Teeters and wife: Darla of Moweaqua, IL, Brother: Dennis (Carolyn) Scheu of Savoy, IL, Sister: Carol (Jeff) Martin of Tuscola, IL, Grandchildren: Zach, Cole, Tiffany and Hannah, Mother-In-Law: Mary Teeters of Tuscola, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Helen was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in the Tuscola School District from 1970 until 1994. She was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ and a life member of the Douglas County Retired Teacher's Association.
Helen was an avid bridge player and she enjoyed traveling as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the SAM Food Pantry.
