Helen M. Nisley, 79, of Arcola, IL, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Middle Cross Cowboy Church, 1061 Yoders Center, Arthur, IL, with the Rev. Jess Adams officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Shrader Funeral Home, 204 North Locust Street, Arcola, IL. Burial will be in the Arcola Township Cemetery, Arcola, IL

Helen was born on December 4, 1933 in Arcola, IL, the daughter of Scott and Ethel M. Wingler Deweese. She married Paul Nisley on November 28, 1975 in Arthur, IL, they shared 37 years together. He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters: Linda (Tim) Cochrane of Savoy, IL, Connie Alexander of Urbana, IL, and Gary Alexander of Villa Grove, IL, grandchildren: Christine Yaden and Ken Sokolowski of Kannapolis, NC, Andrew (Rachelle) Traxler of Columbus, WI, Frank (Holly) Alexander of St. Joseph, IL, Rod (Tiffany) Alexander of Okinawa, Japan, step-grandchildren: Nikki (Jeff) Knight of Tuscola, Gary (Kristi) Alexander, Jr. of Pawnee, great-grandchildren: Tracy Alexander, Tommy Alexander, Vanessa Alexander, Max Alexander, Matthew Alexander and Ava Alexander, step-great-grandchildren: James, Josh and Haleigh Knight, Austin, Brayden, Colton and Jillian Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Roy Deweese

She enjoyed riding in her golf cart with family and friends. Helen loved to drive the school bus early in her career and listening to the Gunnysack Band. She also loved working with crafts and hosting parties during the Broomcorn Festival for over 30 years. Helen loved her dogs.

Memorials are suggested to the Middle Cross Cowboy Church.
