Helen J. Kellogg, 93, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:29 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Helen was born on Mother's Day May 14, 1922 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Charles Frank and Alice Wright Heaton. She married Lyle A. Kellogg in 1946. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1994.
Survivors include her brother-in-law: Robert K. Kellogg of Tuscola, nieces: Kathy (Cliff) Walker and Carol (John) Tewell, nephew: Rick Kellogg, great-nephew: Steve (Cheryl) Haines, great-niece: Darla (Cliff) Drescher
She was preceded in death by 2 half-brothers: Floyd and Ray Heaton, 1 half-sister: Mary Haines, nephew: Rev. Tom Haines, great-nephew: Stacy Haines. Her best friend and dog companion "Jody" also preceded her in death.
Helen formerly worked at Pettitt Photo Studio in Tuscola. She was a homemaker and business partner in Kellogg Oil Company for many years.
Helen loved shopping for fancy shoes. She lived a very long and full life, if only we could be so lucky!
Memorials are suggested to the SAM Food Pantry and Douglas County Animal Shelter.
