Helen V. Gordy, 92, of rural Sadorus, IL passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Pastor Rob Adams officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.
Mrs. Gordy was born December 18, 1918 in Parkville, IL, the daughter of S.L.J. "Buck" and Sallie B. Wilson Hubbart.
She married C.W. "Bill" Gordy on June 29, 1941 in White Heath, IL. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2011.
She is survived by: 2 sons: J. William Gordy of Spring Hill, FL and Keith Gordy of Tuscola, IL; 1 daughter: Kathleen Kelly of Gibson City, IL; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of Parkville United Methodist Church and Women's Circle. Helen was past president and 50 year member of the Pesotum Home Extension Unit. She enjoyed quilting and genealogy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkville United Methodist Church.
