Harriet L. Beals, 92, of Arthur, died at 7:39 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Arthur Cemetery with Rev. Leroy Allison officiating. There will be no visitation. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Harriet was born July 27, 1921 in Morganfield, Kentucky, the daughter of Claude and Lelah Cobb Lloyd. She married Royal D. Beals in Decatur on November 20, 1941; he preceded her in death on June 26, 2013.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Beals of Bowling Green, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Sentel of Taylorville; Steven (Abrian) Sentel of Clinton; and 1 great granddaughter, Millie Sentel. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kirk Beals; and one sister.
Harriet was a graduate of Nokomis High School. She had worked as a legal secretary for the Rutledge Law Office in Arthur. She was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church; a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star; and the Arthur Ladies Auxiliary.
Memorials are suggested to Decatur Memorial Hospice or Arthur United Methodist Church Building Fund.
