Geraldine "Jerry" Oye, 95, of Garrett, IL, passed away at 9:20 AM, Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Baylor Medical Center, Garland, TX

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Scott Zorn officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M., Friday, October 24, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, Rural Tuscola, IL.

Mrs. Oye was born on August 9, 1913 in Bourbon, IL, the daughter of Avery and Bernice Stevenson McGuire. She married Wilbur M. Oye on September 17, 1934 in Arthur, IL. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1986.

Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Carolyn Perry of Sachse, TX, 4 Grandchildren: Jan White, Lori Kroll, Becky Leszcynski and Tony Perry, 12 Great-Grandchildren: Kaci Boren, Justin White, Brittany White, Kody Kroll, Kaleigh Dukeman, Jordan White, Kindsey Dukeman, Kolby Kroll, Kelsey Kroll, Koltain Leszcynski, Kennedy Kroll, and Kade Perr, 1 Sister: Betty Carroll of Tuscola, IL

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters.

Jerry was the postmaster and owned and operated Oye's Grocery Store in Garrett, IL for 23 years. She was a 1932 graduate of Arthur High School.
Jerry was a member of the Tuscola First Christian Church.
