Gerald "Peanuts" Stahler

Gerald "Peanuts" Stahler, 63, of Bement, formerly of Tuscola, passed away on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026, at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Private family interment will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Peanuts was born on December 17, 1962, in Tuscola. He was the son of Alvin W. and Lydia Combs Stahler. He married Norma M. Bailey on July 1, 2008, in Champaign. She survives.

Also surviving are his stepchildren: Blake (Jessica) Bassett of Tuscola and Jesse (Annalysa) Bassett of Villa Grove; brothers: Scott (Linda) Stahler of Bloomington, Junior Stahler of Charleston, Mark (Nikki) Stahler and Mike (Sharon) Stahler both of Tuscola; sisters: Connie Jo (Don) Lewis of Tuscola, Trish (Brad) Miller of Eldridge, IA, and Margie (Eddie) Escontrias of Hampton; many nieces and nephews and special friend: Doug Huber.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: John Stahler.

Peanuts worked as a process control operator at Tate & Lyle in Decatur. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Fighting Illini fan. Peanuts was a Rolling Stones fan and enjoyed spending time on the golf course.
