Gerald W. "Jerry" Parsano, 88, of Atwood, IL passed away at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Arbor Rose Assisted Living, Tolono, IL.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2023 at the United Church of Atwood, Atwood, IL with Rev. Mike Drake officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.  Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jerry was born June 26, 1935 in Vermont, IL the son of Herbert and Vera Ogden Parsano.  He married Sharon J. Terril February 10, 1972 in Atwood, IL.  She preceded him in death on January 26, 2020.

Survivors include his sons: Mark (Cindy) Parsano of Cookeville, TN, Larry (Jennifer) Parsano of Decatur, IL and Michael Terril of Monticello, and a daughter: Janice Rice of Atwood, 4 siblings: Leo, Ronnie, Donnie and Brenda, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter and siblings: Mike, Donna and David.

Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of the United Church of Atwood, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge and served on the Atwood-Hammond Library Board.  Jerry worked at General Cable in Monticello, IL for over 30 years.
