Gerald F. "Jerry" Hawkins, 71, of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 3:01 AM, Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL
Mr. Hawkins was born on August 4, 1936 in Graham, TX, the son of Fenton C. and Faye O. Winkler Hawkins. He married Phyllis A. Murdach on November 23, 1957 in Carmi, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: 2 Sons: Doug Hawkins and wife: Kim of Catlin, IL, Tom Hawkins and wife: Angie of Tuscola, IL, 1 Daughter: Beth Hawkins of Ventura, CA, 6 Grandchildren: Dusty, Drew, Nicole, Amber, Steve and Whitney, 4 Great-Grandchildren: Nathan, Amaya, Trey and Hailey, 1 Brother: Royce Hawkins of Carmi, IL.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 1 Brother: Dean Hawkins
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society
Mr. Hawkins was a retired self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. He loved horses and toy trucks.
