Obituary
Genevieve Marcella Hight, 96, of Champaign, formerly of Arthur, died at 9:38 PM Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Bickford Cottage in Champaign.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 120 E. Park Street, Arthur, with Rev. John Stewart officiating,. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Hight was born October 12, 1917 in Dongola, the daughter of Aaron Humphrey and Beulah Hester Keller Capron. She married Paul J. Hight in Jackson, Missouri, on January 1, 1938; he preceded her in death on June 1, 2000.
She is survived by four granddaughters, Karen (Mike) Kulas of Savoy; Karol (Wayne) Steele of Sherrard; Krista Hight of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Kelly (Joe) Villanti of Chicago; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Robert and James; and two sisters.
Mrs. Hight was an avid baker, and active member of her church, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Arthur.
