Gaylord Loren O'Bryan, 88, of rural Sadorus, IL, passed away at 3:48 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

He was born on September 18, 1924 in Parkville, IL, the son of Hiram and Opal Hinds O'Bryan. Gaylord married Marian Joan Buxton on July 19, 1953 in Lovington, IL. She survives.

Gaylord is survived by his daughter: Patricia O'Bryan (Terry Whitehead) of Peoria, IL, sons: John (Janet) O'Bryan of Naperville, IL, Eric ( Renee) O'Bryan of Sadorus, IL and Mark (Debra) of Winchester, MA, 8 grandchildren: Jeremy, Tabatha, Travis, Justin, Adam, Drew, Declan and Keegan O'Bryan, 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Vernon and Russell O'Bryan

He was a veteran of World War II, joining the US Navy and serving in the South Pacific Theatre. After the war, Gaylord attended Wittenberg College (Ohio) and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration. He returned to Illinois to farm with his father in Sadorus.

Gaylord lived in the Parkville area all of his life, and was blessed to have the opportunity to farm the land that was his family's and acquire more as years passed. He belonged to the Parkville United Methodist Church, was a charter member of the Sadorus Sportsman's Club and a lifetime member of the Pesotum American Legion Post #580.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Rob Adams officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the O'Bryan Cemetery, rural Sadorus, IL with military graveside rites accorded.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkville United Methodist Church.
