Gary Dean Prentice, age 75, of Villa Grove, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Haven of Tuscola Nursing Home.
Born on December 28, 1950, Gary is survived by his former wife, Joyce Hasselberger, and his daughters Melissa Lorber (husband Wade; children Ryan, Lizzie, and Megan) and Alison van den Heuvel (husband Joe; children Kara, James and Rachel).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Martha Prentice, and his brothers, Jim and Randy Prentice.
A memorial service will be held at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Illinois, with the date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
