Garnette Leon Clark, 91, of Arcola, died at 1:50 PM Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Arthur Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Arcola United Methodist Church, 121 S. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Bruce Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 PM at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Clark was born October 15, 1917 in Tuscola, the daughter of Ben and Mary Weber Mannon. She married John H. Clark in Shelbyville on February 20, 1939; he preceded her in death on December 20, 1998.

Survivors include 3 children, Madelyn Kay Henderson of O'Fallon, Missouri; John G. "Corky" Clark and wife Billiejean of Arcola; Roger Clark and wife Maryann of Eugene, Oregon; 6 grandchildren, Leanna Jung; Marty Henderson and wife Debra; Bryan Clark and wife Angie; Mark Clark and wife Stephanie; Brad Clark and wife Kristi; John M. "Butch" Clark and wife Lindsey; 12 Great Grandchildren, Samantha and Tanner Jung, David Henderson, Taryn Henderson, Britni Henderson, Kylee Clark, Lexee Clark, Laynee Clark, Conner Clark, Paven Clark, Kaylie Clark, and Brady Clark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Lillian Pflum, and son-in-law, Dave Henderson.

Mrs. Clark baked honey rolls, angel food cakes, and noodles for some area restaurants; worked as the secretary for the principal at Arcola High School; and later retired from Quantum in Tuscola where she worked as a secretary in the lab.

She was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and participated in the cookbook project.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
