Gale S. Holmes, 78, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:10 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL

Graveside Services with military graveside rites accorded will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL with Father Barry Harmon officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Mr. Holmes was born on April 24, 1934 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Lloyd and Edith Denny Holmes. He married Rose M. Vekich. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1991.

Gale was a retired tobacco salesman. Upon his retirement, he worked at the Douglas County Courthouse as a court bailiff. He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. Gale served his country as a member of the US Army.
