Gail Benner

Gail Benner, age 78, of Tuscola, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.

Gail was born on April 9, 1948, to Julia Schwartz, in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1966. On August 8, 1971, she married Claude Benner at Cartwright Church in Tuscola, Illinois.

Gail is survived by her husband, Claude; her daughters, Julie (Robert) Greenstone and Helen (Christopher) Hutchens; her grandchildren, Mikayla Helmuth, Aiden Greenstone, Lexi Greenstone, Noah Greenstone and Henry Hutchens; her sisters Janet Lantz, Susan Carter, Jean (Sam) Eads and Shirley Ogden; and her brother Bill Carter. She was preceded in death by her mother.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 28, 2026, at 2:30 pm at the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
