Fred E. Alexander, 82, of Newman, IL, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:35 a.m., Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Newman Rehab and Health Care Center, Newman, IL
Graveside Services with military graveside rites will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. No Visitation will be held. The Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Alexander was born on September 15, 1927 in Crainville, IL, the son of Fred S. and Libby Mae Moulton Alexander. He married Joyce L. Beck Obert on April 27, 1971 in Joliet, IL. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2006.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Daniel Alexander of TX and Fred Alexander, 3 Daughters: Tami Rieger of Freeman Spur, IL, Lisa Edwards of Brocton, IL, Julia Kennedy of Tuscola, IL, 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandson, 1 Sister: Linda Eichorn of Alton, IL, 1 Nephew: Timothy Eichorn, 2 Step-Sons: Gil Obert, Jr. of FL and Patrick Obert of VA, 3 Step-Daughters: Terri Rauworth of Joliet, IL, Evelyn Waldroupe of Port Richey, FL, Jaclyn Wells of Herrin, IL, 5 Step-Grandchildren, 6 Step-Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Fred was a retired coal miner. He was a World War II US Army Veteran.
