Francis Leroy Thompson, 78, of Mattoon, formerly of Arcola, died at 6:05 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Mattoon Health Care and Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church in Arcola with Rev. Barry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Francis was born October 10, 1933 in Weldon, the son of Roy and Margaret Brown Thompson.
Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Perlmutter of Chalfont, Pennsylvania; Marcia Chandler of Longview, Washington; son, Brian Thompson of Georgia; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Delores (Jerry) Adkisson of Tuscola; Mary Ann (Fred) Smith of Tuscola; Kaye (Sam) Dick of Hammond; 2 brothers, Tony (Ardith) Thompson of Arthur; Marvin (Linda) Thompson of Arcola; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
Memorials are suggested to Passages Hospice LLC, 929 S. Alpine Rd, Suite #202, Rockford, IL 61108 or Mattoon Health Care and Rehab Center, 2121 S. 9th Street, Mattoon, IL 61938.
