Francis Russell Sanders, 89, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 11:55 A.M., Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Graveside Services will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, December 23, 2006
at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL, with military graveside rites accorded by the James Reeder American Legion Post #770 Atwood, IL. Rev. Veronica Walsh-Don will be officiating the service. No Visitation will be held. The Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Sanders was born on June 6, 1917 in Atwood, IL, the son of Francis Edward and Rosa Dukeman Sanders. He married Eva Lucille Evans on April 3, 1937 in Atwood, IL. She preceded him in death on March 30, 1999.

Survivors include: 2 Sons: Marvin Sanders and wife: Carolyn of Atwood, IL, Norman Sanders of Camargo, IL
1 Sister: Betty Sharp of Atwood, IL, 4 Grandchildren: Pam Simpson and husband: Gene, Doug Sanders and wife: Lisa, Becky Cooprider and husband: Sean and Paula Sanders, 6 Great-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers and 3 Sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Arthur Home or United Church of Atwood.

Mr. Sanders was a retired State of Illinois IDOT employee. He was a World War II US Army Veteran. He was a member of the United Church of Atwood and a 60 year member of the James Reeder American Legion Post #770, Atwood, IL.
