Frances Catherine "Kitty" Risting, 95, of Mattoon, died at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday, April 18,2018 at the Oddfellow-Rebekah Home, Mattoon.

Kitty was born November 13, 1922 in Windsor, the daughter of Ted and Martha Jane Dewar Hughes. She married John Risting; he preceded her in death December, 1994.

She is survived by 3 brothers, Dean Hughes of Mattoon, Steve Hughes of Lerna; Ralph Hughes of Arcola; sister, Virginia Miller of Fairview Heights; and "gobs" of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Kitty was a graduate of Windsor High School in 1941. She was married to a Pearl Harbor survivor, who also served in 5 wars.

There will be no services. Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
