Frances A. Hettinger, 90 of Tuscola, IL passed away at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen St., Tuscola, IL, with Fr. Delix Michel as celebrant. A vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Mrs. Hettinger was born on December 23, 1923 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Bruce E. and Susan M. Bulach Teeters. She married Lewis F. Hettinger on October 1, 1947 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1994.
Survivors include her children: Steve (Becky) Hettinger of Tuscola, Ken (Lena) Hettinger of Hindsboro, Becky Lietz of Tuscola, Larry (Debbie) Hettinger of Tuscola and Kathy (Rich) Page of Paxton, 9 grandchildren: Jennifer (Mike) Thomas, Doug (Beth) Hettinger, Jessie (Ryan) Petty, Jackie (Jeremy)Gardner, Tammy (Mark) Martin, Amy (Seth) McGaughey, Lesley (Trent) Warnke, Brian (Amy) Page and Kristi (Dion) Ferguson, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister: Irene (Bill) Rogers of Tuscola, sister-in-law: Mary Teeters of Tuscola,
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Albert Teeters, sisters: Marie Teeters, Bernice Martin, Maurine Schultz, and Dolores Lane, granddaughters: Erin Hettinger Lindelof and Marci Lietz.
Memorials are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Marci Lietz Memorial Scholarship Fund or donor's choice.
Frances was a homemaker. She formerly worked as a medical secretary at Mercy Hospital in Urbana and in the Douglas County Clerk's office. She was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and Altar Society.
