Frances Marion Bechtel, 85, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 North Prairie Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Bruce Baumberger and Brian Henningsen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Mrs. Bechtel was born on February 13, 1921 in Sandoval, Illinois. She was the daughter of Francis Marion and Dessie Slater Eagan. She married Charles J. Bechtel on March 23, 1941 in Farmington, MO.
Survivors include her Loving Husband: Charles, She is the Beloved Mother of Dennis Bechtel and wife; Barb of Peoria, IL, Scott Bechtel and wife; Lisa of Champaign, IL, Jeff Bechtel and wife: Terri of Peoria, IL, Dottie Browning and husband: James Fleniken of Spring, TX, Susan Hall of Tuscola, IL, Loving Grandmother of Alicia Bechtel, Greg Bechtel, Brad Bechtel, Doug Browning, Heather Reed, Alyssa Bechtel, Alexandra Bechtel, Erica Hall, Elizabeth Hall, Zachary Bechtel, Jarod Bechtel, Loving Great-Grandmother of Emily Bechtel, Caroline Bechtel, Shea Bechtel, Ryan Bechtel, Jordan Rogers, Connor Browning, Trever Reed
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Sons: John & Sam Bechtel, 1 Sister: Dorothy Reynolds
Mrs. Bechtel taught music at her home for over 50 years. She was a member of an all girls band called "Dessie Eagan and Her Swing Sister Band", performing mostly in the St. Louis area in the 1940's & 1950's. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church and the Douglas County Museum Association. She was a member of the American Federation of Musician's Local #717. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being around people. She loved to camp, travel, doing genealogy work, cooking, canning, crafts and working crossword puzzles.
