Florence Mae Alcorn Ellison, 85, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2017 at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio. She was surrounded by family.

Florence (Flossie) was born on June 14, 1932 in Tuscola, Illinois to Sanford and Reba Cobb Alcorn. She married Robert Ellison on October 14, 1949. Their marriage of almost sixty-eight years was inspiring to witness. Bob and Flossie traveled the world together and created a wonderful home that was welcoming to family and friends. They made their home in Arthur, IL for 25 years. Flossie loved to entertain, and she did so with grace and style. She was a great cook, and often read cookbooks in her spare time. A family favorite recipe was her "Gagi-noodles" with chicken. Entertaining was a joy for her, but her family was her passion. She was always there for her family with a hand to hold.   Flossie was an excellent listener, had a kind smile, and always knew just what to say to make someone feel better.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sanford and Reba; her sister, Viola; and her granddaughter, Molly. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Ellison; her daughters, Debbie Cribbet, Diane Ellison, and Leann Ulmer; her sons-in-law, Greg Cribbet and Dave Ulmer; and her grandchildren, Matt Cribbet (Jenny Cundiff), Tim Cribbet, Elizabeth Page (Andrew Page), and Meredith Ulmer (Andrew Pea); and her siblings, Margaret Moore, Mary London, and Gene Alcorn.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Shrader Funeral Home in Arthur, IL. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur, IL.
