Esther Ann Finn, 96, of Arcola, died at 6:18 AM Tuesday, July 7,2015 at the Tuscola Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 201 S. Pine Street, Arcola, with Rev. Angel Sierra officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Rosary will be conducted at 9:00 AM Friday with visitation being held from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is in charge of arrangements.

Esther was born July 15, 1918 in Humboldt, the daughter of Michael and Maude E. Barger Schweighart. She married Thomas W. Finn in Arcola on January 9, 1940; he preceded her in death on April 18, 1967.

Survivors include 4 sons, Larry (Marty) Finn of Oakland; Jim (Madeline "Joyce") Finn of Arcola; Reggie (Linda) Finn of Rio, Wisconsin; Tony (Elke) Finn of Port Arthur, Texas; 2 daughters, Mary (John) Hill of Tuscola; Kathleen Finn of Charleston; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Raymond and Lawrence; sister, Alice Wilmore; and granddaughter, Vicky.

Esther graduated from Humboldt High School and attended Utterback's Business College in Mattoon. She had worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Central Telephone Co.; at Parson's Dime Store; and at Arcola 1st National Bank. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she also was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Esther loved her family, was an avid reader, and enjoyed feeding the birds.
