Esther Virginia Conn, 95, of Arthur, died at 1:50 PM Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Mason Point, Sullivan.
A casual visitation to celebrate Virginia's life will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Vincennes, Indiana.
Virginia was born September 26, 1920 in Lawrence County, the daughter of George Willard and Iva Irene Fye Irwin. She married Paul Conn on July 7, 1944 in Vincennes, Indiana; he preceded her in death on October 3, 2007.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, JoAnn (Larry) Edwards of Puyallup, Washington; Deb (Ray) Barnes of St. Joseph, Jeanie Conn of Lovington; 2 sons, Bill (Bonnee Zander) Conn of Tacoma, Washington, Dr. Steve Conn of Oakland; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers.
Virginia was a graduate of Bridgeport Twp. High School in 1938. She and her husband operated the Frontier Restaurant on North 22nd Street in Decatur and also Dairyland in Arthur. She was involved with the tutoring program, PALS through Lakeland College, helping students for 10 years. Virginia was an active member of the Arthur United Methodist Church. She traveled all over the western United States, Hawaii, and Iceland.
She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren.
