Ervin J. Schrock, 79, of Champaign, formerly of Arthur, died at 10:10 PM Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Amber Glen Assistant Living Facility in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Stratford Park Bible Church, 2801 W. Kirby, Champaign, with Pastor Ken Raymond officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Champaign. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ervin was born March 1, 1934 in Arthur, the son of Joe and Lizzie Plank Schrock, Jr. He married Barbara Carwile in Sullivan on August 3, 1953; she survives.

Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by one son, Jim (Marge) Schrock of Carbondale, Colorado; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Grindley of Mahomet; one brother, John (Judy) Schrock of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 7 grandchildren, Kenny (Melissa) Schrock of St. Joseph; Beth (Chris) Rinion of McKinney, Texas; Kate, Annie, and Gracie Schrock all of Carbondale, Colorado; Sarah (Lee Jones) Grindley of Mahomet; Rachel (Adam) Ennis of Mansfield; 3 great grandchildren, Samantha and Savannah Jones, and Gabriel Rinion; 2 step grandchildren, Tierra and Jordan of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.

Ervin worked as an instrument maker machinist at the University of Illinois for 30 years. He was a member of the Stratford Park Bible Church, Champaign. He enjoyed golf and loved to travel. He was a "Mr. Fix It" and was always puttering around the house.
