Eric Dean Hastings, 61, of Tuscola, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at his residence.

A private service was held at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, Illinois with the Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Burial was held immediately following in the Tuscola Township Cemetery South.

Eric was born October 6, 1963 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was the youngest of five children born to Robert Dean and Beverly Jo Hastings who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by brothers Greg (Jan), Craig, Randy (Angela), and sister Tracy Flesor (Scott), and two nieces, five nephews, and four grand nieces and nephews.

Eric graduated from Tuscola High School. He was a longtime photographer for the family newspapers, was employed by the University of Illinois and currently held a position with Justrite Manufacturing in Mattoon. He also owned and operated a lawn service for several years.

Eric enjoyed day trips with his sister, working in his garage and visiting with his lawn customers.
