Emily Janiece Rome, 82, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:39 p.m, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL
Private family graveside services will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery with Rev. Joseph Carter officiating. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is entrusted with the arrangements.
Janiece was born on September 29, 1931 in Champaign, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Lilly Snodgrass Hatcher. She married Philip L. Rome, Jr. on March 3, 1951 in Champaign, IL. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2006.
Surviving are her sons: Phil Rome and wife: Debbie of Champaign, IL, Ron Rome and Amy of Tuscola, IL, 5 grandchildren: T.J., Brandon, James, Jordan and Emily, 3 great-grandchildren: Raven, Sydney and Aiden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Bus Hatcher and sister: Pauline Sanders
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Health Care Center.
Janiece retired from FS in Tuscola, where she worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff at Carle Clinic and the Tuscola Health Care Center for taking such good care of their mother.
