She is survived by 3 daughters, Dawn (Tim) Baietto of Utica; Joanna (Todd) Sitz of Arcola; Laura (Rob) Westcott of Mattoon; 3 sons, David (Toni) Trier of Mattoon; Phillip (Janet) Trier of California; Bruce (Pam) Trier of Springfield; brother, Burleigh Hocking of Charleston; sister, Shirley Boddy of Lovington; 12 grandchildren, Travis (Denielle) Trier; Ryan Trier; Joshua Trier; Amy (Erich) Hillmann; Brian (Casey) Lucier; Derek Sitz; Jill (Nathan) Raymond; Danielle (Tyson) Sledge; Lindsey (Christopher) Wendt; Alyssa (Jesse) Ketzle; Jackson and Janessa Trier; 15 great grandchildren, Peyton, Slater, Tatym, and Ayden Trier; Alie, Ashton, Blake Hillman; Tucker, Ellie, Camilla Lucier; Beau and Ivy Raymond; Ava and Everett Sledge; and Jonah Ketzle.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Scott, and granddaughter, Amanda Lucier.

Betty worked as a secretary for the Mattoon school system for several years.

Betty was a pillar of strength, faith, and love in her long life. She was a devoted mother to six children who she raised on her own. She was a long-time member of the Mattoon congregation of Jehovah's witnesses and more recently a member of the Tuscola congregation. She was passionate about sharing the Bible with others and valued her ever growing spiritual family. Betty's joy was demonstrated in unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, the beauty of nature, and sharing a good laugh. She found great pleasure in watching movies, dressing up in her best beads, bangles and rings, and especially taking pictures, considering all moments in life worth cherishing. Betty was kind and gentle yet a sassy and spunky woman to the very end. She will always be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Memorials are suggested to Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
