Elizabeth L. "Betty" Helmuth, 82, of Atwood passed away at 3:50 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2022 at Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Joy Starwalt officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Betty was born August 9, 1940 in Crawford, NE the daughter of William and Frances Clark Wright.  She married Fred J. Helmuth on November 2, 1963.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 1979.

She is survived by her son: Milton Jaye Helmuth (Mary O'dell) of Mattoon, daughter: Lynda Kaye Helmuth of Atwood, brothers: Benjamin Noel (Peggy) Wright and David Glen Wright, sisters: Deborah Lynn (Larry) Livesay, Theresa Ruth Kedrowski, honorary grandchildren: Cody Greenwood, Katrice Livesay and Kelli Lewis, many nieces and nephews and special grand kittens: Milo, Pooky and Daisy and special grand doggies: Fiona, Tango and Titus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Rebecca Maudeen Rice and Dorothy Kaye Green, brother: William Clark Wright, nephews: William Clark Wright, Jr and Floyd Raymond Rice.

Betty was a dietary manager at the Tuscola Health Care Center for many years.
