Edwin Ramon Kleiss, 87, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:06 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL, with Father Angel Sierra as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Pesotum, IL

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the church.

Ed was born on October 11, 1931 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Henry C. and Evangeline "Vangie" Cain Kleiss.

He was the beloved husband of Kay Kleiss, dear father of Kristi (Chris) Townsend and John (Patti) Kleiss, dear grandfather of Carrie (Mark) Egli, Aimee (Adam) Chinski, Mary Claire (Ryan) Kuehn, Catherine Kleiss and Jack Kleiss, great-grandpa of Ryan and Sarah Chinski.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Alfred E. "Sonny" Kleiss, sister: Betty Yborra and great-granddaughter: Lydia Kathleen Egli.
He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. Ed served in the US Army during the Korean War and returned home and worked for 38 years at the USI Chemical Company, retiring in 1991.

He enjoyed working in his yard, watching baseball games and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Forty Martyrs Catholic Church.
