Obituary
Edward B. Roberts, 77, of Decatur, died at 1:57 PM Friday, May 27, 2011 at his residence.
Masonic Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2001 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur. No Visitation will be held. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery with military rites by the Air Force Honor Guard.
Mr. Roberts was born February 16, 1934 in Whitley City, Kentucky, the son of Jonathan and Lola Juanita Vanover Roberts. He was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Robinson on Dec. 28, 1977 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife Gwendolyn of Decatur; son, Brian Roberts of Seaside, CA;and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a very active member of the Ionic Masonic Lodge #312 AF & AM in Decatur and the York Rite. Mr. Roberts and his wife moved from Ypsilanti, Michigan to Decatur several years ago.
