Edward W. "Bill" Agge, 91, of Arthur, IL, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Heartland Health Care Center, Normal, IL.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, IL military graveside rites will be accorded. Pastor Thomas Wirsing will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine St,. Arthur, IL.

Mr. Agge was born March 2, 1920 in Marshalltown, IA the son of George H. and Hilka Niederhauser Agge. He married Catherine L. Powell on October 20, 1946 near Arthur, IL. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2007.

Bill is survived by 2 Sons: Ronald (Marietta) Agge of Bloomington, IL; and Richard (Lisa) Agge of Sullivan, IL; 2 Sisters: June Traxler of Arthur, IL; and Ruth (Glenn) Herz of Portland, OR; 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Mr. Agge served from 1942 until 1946 in the United States Army. He served as an Amphibian Tank Commander. He enjoyed making whirly gigs and other wood working projects. He liked flowers, dogs, hunting mushrooms and collecting Indian relics. Bill worked at Progress Industries and FS for many years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and fisherman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arthur Lions Club.
