Edna LaVerne Dallas, 79, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 101 East Church Street, Sadorus, IL, with Pastor Bill Gauger officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Edna was born on March 21, 1930 in Sadorus Township, IL, the daughter of Elmer Carl and Sophie Marie Vollmer Nofftz. She married John William "Bill" Dallas on April 2, 1952 in Sadorus, IL.

She is survived by her husband and children: Larry of Tuscola, Larayne (Tim DeFries) of Austin, TX, Lyndall (Marsha) of Lincoln, IL, David of Tuscola, IL, five grandchildren: John Dallas, Kelsey Dallas, Christa DeFries, Natalie DeFries and Anna DeFries and a sister: Marie Herriott of Sidney, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Edna was a graduate of Sadorus High School and worked at the University of Illinois before her marriage. She was a life-long member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sadorus. She was a homemaker and excellent cook. Edna was a lot of help to her family throughout her life. She came from two large German families and was very interested in genealogy.
