Edith Ruth Dukeman, 100, of Monticello, IL, formerly of Atwood, IL, died at 1:55 AM, Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, Illinois
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the United Church of Atwood, 210 North Main Street, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Veronica Don officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.
Mrs. Dukeman was born on January 4, 1906 in Lodge, IL, the daughter of Willis and Emma Alice Fitzwater Fristoe. She married Olan Russell Dukeman on October 8, 1925 in Milmine, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1979.

Wayne, IN, Martha Sieh of Lovington, IL, Alice McClure of Decatur, IL, 5 Grandchildren: Russell Dukeman, Mark Bragg, Cheryl Franks, Michael Bragg, Joe Dukeman, 11 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Son: Robert Dukeman, 2 Brothers: Ned Fristoe & Kenneth Fristoe, 3 Sisters: Lois Livengood, Nellie Hubbell, Helen Fristoe

Mrs. Dukeman was a homemaker and former school teacher, having taught in a one room school building. She was a graduate of Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. She was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. She was a member of the United Church of Atwood, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship and she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She was a former 4-H Leader, member of the Hammond Women's Club and the Piatt County Home Extension Unit. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking.
