Edith M. Bozarth, 92, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 12:57 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 North Prairie Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011 with an Eastern Star Service at 5:00 p.m. at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola IL.
Mrs. Bozarth was born on February 7, 1919 in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of John Riley and Lela Hayter Mangis. She married Wilburn A. Bozarth on May 9, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, IL. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1998.
Survivors include her children: Carl Bozarth of Decatur, IL, Nita (Rex) Bridges of Seymour, IN, John (Susan) Bozarth of Panama City Beach, FL and David (Cheryl) Bozarth of Tuscola, IL, son-in-law: Alan Stahl of Peoria, IL, 11 grandchildren: Edith Anne Perry, John (Jennifer) Bozarth, Jack Bozarth, Molly Kuster, Andrew (Heidi) Kuster, Sara (Eric) Born, Betsy (Johnny) Burnette, Paul Bridges, J.P. Bozarth, Jordan Bozarth and Justin (Aja) Bozarth, 12 great-grandchildren: Stephen Perry, Audrey and Anderson Bozarth, Will and Anna Kuster, Emily, Quinn and Avery Born, Josie, J.D. and Mose Burnette and Isabel Bozarth, sister-in-laws: Jane Mangis and Ruth Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Joyce Bozarth Stahl, daughter-in-law: Sharon Bozarth, brother and sister: John and Lillian Mangis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tuscola United Methodist Church or the SAM Food Pantry.
Mrs. Bozarth was a graduate of Lockyear Business School. She worked as a secretary for the Douglas County Superintendent of Schools for many years. After her retirement, she worked for Douglas County Animal Control. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church, Douglas County Republican Women, Douglas County Museum Association and a 50 year plus member of both the Newman Order of Eastern Star Chapter #260 and the Tuscola Women's Club.
