Edgar Conner, 96, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 10:44 a.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Gary Livesay officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.
Edgar was born on July 11, 1916 in Hindsboro, IL, the son of Charles E. and Stella Fern Bush Conner. He married Marie B. Barbee on August 31, 1935 in Tuscola, IL. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1982. He married Juanita McCoskey on October 29, 1983. She survives.
Other survivors include his son: Charles "Chub" Conner and wife: Suzanne of Mattoon, daughter: Sharon Schwengel and husband: Phil of Champaign, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Harland "Hop" Conner of Tuscola and Carl Conner of Ft. Myers, FL, step-children: Joe (Sue) McCoskey of Hindsboro, Ann (Carroll) Livesay of Mattoon and Jack (Margie) McCoskey of Humboldt, 24 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Phillip Conner, brothers: Charles Frederick Conner, William Emmitt Conner, Clarence Edwin Conner, Harry Edward Conner and James Ray Conner, sisters: Sylvia Lydia Peeler, Blanche Inaz Hamiliton, Lola Mary Badger, Minnie Mae Titus, and Gertie Bell Walters

Edgar retired from USI Chemical Company in 1978, where he worked as an operator. He was a member of the USI retirees, member of the Operating Engineers Union and a lifetime member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. Edgar enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, listening to music and he loved to dance. He was a lifelong Democratic activist.
